Allergies and Allergy symptoms

What is an allergy/Allergies and what are the symptoms ?. An allergy is a high reaction that occurs by the immune system in response to exposure to certain foreign substances inside the body.

A person’s immune system fights off invading organisms and it builds up antibodies to prevent foreign substances to harm the person’s body from Allergies and show some & Allergy symptoms

These antibodies can become activated in response to new invasions.

If a person’s immunity system becomes activated, the reaction caused by the presence of the invader or foreign particle can trigger reactions.

if a person feels an allergic reaction, people often feel that they are going to vomit

Eg: IF a person is suffering from pollen allergy

Someone with a pollen allergy has an immune system response that causes their body to react and release chemicals in their nose. This causes small sacs at the back of the nose to swell up and itch.

Pollen allergy symptoms can take place throughout the year, but these tend to increase during the spring and summer months.

What to do?

In a pollen allergy, a person’s symptoms tend to occur and worsen after exposure to pollen.

When people have allergies, the Allergy symptoms lead to scratch their noses but they should not should not . This can cause sores in the nose that may cause an allergic reaction to worsen.

Instead, a person should take antihistamines or antihistamine nasal spray to ease their symptoms.

When to see a doctor

It is always best to visit a doctor if a person has any symptoms of an allergic

Pollen grains In Allergy

An allergen can be any type of substance or antigen, That can be eaten or inhaled, it is recognized by the immune system and causes an allergic reaction.

Eg: Dust, pollen, and pet dander are the most common allergens

Allergy!! What causes allergy?

If allergies and allergy symptoms are severe, it’s vital to see your GP or allergist they will recommend treatment. In the case of bee or wasp allergies, for example, the first line of defense is to avoid exposure.

An antihistamine will usually ease symptoms, but this is usually only necessary for a short while before the antibodies take over. If the symptoms become too severe, a steroid nasal spray is prescribed to treat the swelling in the sinuses.

In the case of another type of allergy, such as dust, grass, or even perfume, patients are advised to avoid strong scents and to keep their homes as allergy-free as possible.

What causes allergies?

Air pollution may be to blame

According to the NHS, a major cause of allergies is airborne particles, such as pollen, so while you may feel as though you’re allergic to certain substances, you may not show allergic symptoms as you’re allergic to pollen.

How do you know if you’re allergic to something?

If you suspect you’re allergic to something, it’s important to research what it is to help treat symptoms as early as possible.

Allergies & Allergy Symptoms

Common Symptoms of allergy may include

  • Runny or itchy eyes
  • Runny or stuffy nose,
  • Cough & sneezing,
  • Itching.

Some key facts about Allergies and allergy symptoms

  • Food Allergy affects about 20 million Americans in the U.S. Food allergy is when the body’s immune system attacks proteins on the surface of the foods we eat.
  • An allergic reaction that involves all the body’s systems occurs when the immune system mistakes the protein in foods as a foreign invader, causing it to release chemicals called histamine, epinephrine, and other substances that cause inflammation in the body’s tissues.
  • Symptoms vary in severity, but an allergic reaction generally worsens as an allergy progresses, and can include hives, rashes, itching, and difficulty breathing. Source: Mayo Clinic

A doctor will recommend an allergy test to the protein or other substances in food for a foreign invader.

If a person does not have a known allergy, allergy testing is used to test for an existing sensitivity.

A skin prick test is one option. A doctor will place a few drops of liquid food allergen on a skin patch to cause a small rash, known as a pruritic reaction, on the area.

The skin will become red and itchy, but it’s possible not to notice the skin rash.

Different types of Allergy on the Skin ( Allergies and allergy symptoms)

  • Rashes. Areas of skin that are irritated, red, or swollen, and can become painful or itchy to the person.
  • Eczema. Patches of skin become inflamed and can itch and bleed if further scratching is done.
  • Contact dermatitis. It is a form of  Red, itchy patches of skin that develop almost immediately after contact with an allergen if the skin is too sensitive.
  • Hives. are a form of  Red, itchy, and raised welts of various sizes and shapes to develop on the surface of the skin occur due to further scratching of the skin.
  • Swollen eyes.  If too much allergen comes in contact with Eyes it may become watery or itchy and look “puffy.”
  • Itching.  It is common There’s irritation or inflammation in the skin.
  • Burning. IN this Skin inflammation leads to discomfort and stinging sensations on the skin. It mostly occurs due to higher scratching and rubbing on the skin

Allergy Season

Seasonal allergies is the most common type of allergy that occurs to people sometimes also called “hay fever” or seasonal allergic rhinitis,

These  allergy symptoms it can happen during certain times of the year, And mostly occurs when outdoor molds release their spores, and trees, grasses, flowers and weeds release tiny pollen particles into the air.

Seasonal allergies are commonly termed as a pollen allergy. Allergy is a condition that affects the structure or function of your body.
Allergies are triggered by substances that trigger allergic reactions.

The most common symptoms of seasonal allergies are sneezing, itchy nose, itchy eyes, throat and itchy nose and eyes. You should see a doctor who will prescribe you medications, spray on

Pollen is one of the most common triggers of seasonal allergies.

Seasonal Allergy Symptoms

The symptoms of seasonal allergy are not different They include

  • heavy/normal sneezing.
  • runny or stuffy nose -if a person comes to contact with allergens.
  • watery and itchy eyes.
  • itchy sinuses, throat, or ear canals.
  • ear congestion.
  • postnasal drainage.

Seasonal allergies can cause inflammation and swelling of the lining of your nose and of the PERSON

Anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction that occurs to a person. It can occur within seconds or minutes of exposure to something that a person is allergic to,

Eg; peanuts or bee stings

Allergy Reaction

Symptoms of Allergy reaction are

  • abdominal cramping or pain
  • pain or tightness in the chest
  • diarrhea
  • difficulty swallowing
  • dizziness
  • fear or anxiety
  • flushing of the face
  • nausea or vomiting
  • heart palpitations
  • swelling of the face, eyes, or tongue
  • weakness
  • wheezing
  • difficulty breathing
  • unconsciousness

How to avoid allergy reaction

  1. IF a person is not in the healthy shape he should avoid going outside in certain season
  2. IF a person is sensitive to a certain kind of Allergen he should prevent contact with the allergen
  3. Carry allergy medication if possible if u cant prevent contact with an allergen
  4. Contact health official doctor and medical care as early as possible to prevent chronic allergy reaction

Allergy Reaction( Allergies & Allergy Symptoms)

drug allergy is an allergic reaction to a certain type of medication given to the person which does not show patient compliance with the medication.

With an allergic reaction, your immune system, which fights infection and disease, reacts to the drug.

This reaction can cause symptoms of rash, fever, and trouble breathing. True drug allergy is not common.

The condition occurs during drug allergy

  • Inflammation in the kidneys. inflammation in the kidney can also lead to Acute nephritis has several causes, and it can ultimately lead to kidney failure if it’s left untreated for a sometimes
  • Drug-induced anemia leads to a decrease in red blood cells And some common symptoms are irregular heartbeats, shortness of breath, and fatigue

Drug-induced immune hemolytic anemia is a blood disorder that occurs when a medicine triggers the body’s defense (immune) system to attack its own red blood cells.

This causes red blood cells to break down earlier than normal, a process called hemolysis.

  • Serum sickness is a similar kind of response that is related to allergy also. it occurs when a substance triggers immune symptoms

It is also known as type III hypersensitivity reaction.

if an injection of heterologous or foreign, medication protein or serum is injected into the person

It is also known as an immune-complex-mediated hypersensitivity reaction.

Food Allergy

Food allergy is known as an abnormal response, to a certain kind of food as our system takes a harmful substance. In response to that our body show some kind of allergy known as food allergy

Food allergy can occur due to Even a tiny amount of the allergy-causing food given to a person

what is a food allergy?

food allergies are a part of a person’s food preferences from some foods that people have allergies to

food allergies are the byproduct of a body’s immune system reacting to the food that it comes into contact with. a food allergy is a bodily response, rather than an injury.

some people are allergic to different types of food types; some are allergic to certain foods.

food allergies can cause a person to:

  • can have allergic symptoms when eating certain foods
  • have an allergic reaction to food that they are allergic to
  • have a history of serious allergic reactions
  • a food allergy is often TO SOME SENSITIVE PEOPLE, but not always, due to an allergy to a certain type of protein.

In some cases, a person may be allergic to something other than a protein.

A food allergy is not the same thing as an anaphylactic food allergy. Anaphylaxis is a severe and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.

A food allergy can be caused by several different proteins, and only some are allergenic.

Allergy treatment

The most effective way to prevent allergy is to stay as far and protective from allergen as much as possible and prevent any type of contact

Allergy Medicines

The most common drug given to allergy patients is Antihistamines.

But the doctor can prescribe other medicines on the basis of the severity of the disease

  • Cetirizine is an antihistamine that reduces the natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. It is using to treat cold or allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, or runny nose.
  • Levocetirizine is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms most effective as over-the-counter drugs. it also used in itching and hives
  • corticosteroids. Commonly referred to as steroids, corticosteroids are a type of anti-inflammatory drug which prevent inflammation in the body

Immunotherapy in allergy

Immunotherapy is a type of treatment that helps your immune system fight allergy. The immune system helps your body fight infections and other diseases. immunotherapy is on rising these days

Immunotherapy is a treatment that uses a person’s own immune system to fight allergy

Immunotherapy helps harness your body’s own immune system to target and kill the antigen or remove it from the body

How the allergy is treated and diagnosed

There are many types of ways allergy is being treated it can differ according to the patient severity and according to the patient compliance

The most comfortable way of treatment is when u arrive at the doctor

  • when you go to your doctor, he will ask about your symptoms and duration of allergy from how much time You been suffering from allergy
  • After the general questions, he will perform a physical exam o the patient
  • after that, They’ll ask about anything unusual you may have eaten recently and any substances you may have come in contact with. For example, if you have a rash on your hands, your doctor may ask if you have been come into the contact with any abnormal type of plant, latex, or paint

Lastly, a blood test and skin test will perform that if u have been in contact of any type of suspected particle

Allergy Blood Test

Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is a class of antibody (immune protein) associated with allergic reactions. It is normally found in very small amounts in the blood. This test measures the amount of allergen-specific IgE in the blood in order to detect an allergy to a particular substance.

I this test IgE is an antibody that functions as part of the body’s immune system, its defense against “intruders.” and other foreign particles which enter into the body.

When a person is a predisposition to allergies is exposed to several kinds of potential allergens such as food, grass, or animal dander for the first time, that person becomes sensitized by the allergen.

The person’s body perceives the potential allergen as a foreign substance and produces a specific IgE (Immunoglobulin E) antibody.

It binds to specialized mast cells in the skin, respiratory system, and gastrointestinal tract, as well as to basophils (a type of white blood cell found in the body (helps to protect from microbes and several other microorganisms ) in the bloodstream.

And when te person comes with the next exposure of allergen these attached IgE antibodies recognize the allergen

It causes the mast and basophil cells to release histamine and other chemicals, resulting in an allergic reaction that begins at the exposure site.

Skin Allergy test.

skin allergy test is known as the most common type of allergy done by the Doctor. During skin prick or scratch testing, the suspected allergen is kept on the skin and the test results are read after every 15 minutes.

IF the suspected allergen is not found on the first attempt, more than 50 suspected allergen is tested one by one to find the suspected allergen.

There are a certain type of skin allergy which are

How to prevent Allergies/ Allergies?

Well in a scientific way or terms of medical science (Allergies & Allergy symptoms) there is no way we can prevent allergy. But the most effective way to prevent this is to control your response with contact with the allergen.

  • Food allergy can also be prevented by a prevention diet of certain kind of food if a person thinks that it can cause allergy
  • Seasonal allergy can be prevented by not going out without reason and avoid wandering here and there during the season
  • pollen allergy can be prevented by, not go close in the pollination season, or if a person knows that allergen pollen is present there or a person can wear masks as well as to prevent pollen allergy

Some Natural remedies for allergy are

  • Antihistamines. This medication works by blocking a certain histamine substance that your body makes during an allergic reaction.

it can relieve a person suffering from allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and congestion

  • Stinging nettle. some doctors say it is helpful in allergy
  • Quercetin. Quercetin has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects which might help reduce inflammation, kill cancer cells also, control blood sugar, and also helps in reducing inflammation in the body during allergy
  • Bromelain. so these days is a popular natural remedy because, in addition, it shows good results in treating and swelling or inflammation, especially if the person is suffering from sinuses.

Research on mice suggests that bromelain can reduce allergic sensitization and allergic airway disease. As it has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties.

  • Butterbur. used in the treatment of hayfever, and use in limited allergy

Conclusion

Allergy! allergy is not a very dangerous disease meanwhile, but if the person does not take care properly in addition to health it can lead to server effects. on the person,
IF a person is sensitive to an allergic reaction, he should take care properly. if the person is suffering from an allergy for a long time he should take of him properly.HE should make a list of all the things he thinks can cause allergy.

An allergic person should always contact the doctor if he thinks he came in contact of allergy first time to prevent severe infection
